Meet the doulas of Metro East Birth and Baby

I started my career in healthcare assisting physicians and support staff across multiple specialties in the St. Louis area. When I embarked on my own journey into motherhood, it was less than smooth sailing. My pregnancies were high-risk and very medically managed, with the added twist of not being able to get an epidural. Thus I learned about doulas and had my first baby with the wonderful support of a doula. My second delivery was unfortunately very premature and without the assistance of a doula. The contrast in how I FELT about my births was staggering. During my second birth, everyone in the room had a job to do and was focused on that task, but no one was focused on me and my feelings. From that moment I realized the impact doula support can have on any type of birth and set out to fulfill my passion of empowering families in the perinatal setting. When no one in the room is looking at you and only at (the very important) task at hand, I will be there with you (and your partner) as my only focus.
As a birth and postpartum doula, I believe every family deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported. I meet you where you are, honoring your values, preferences, and goals without judgment. Whether you're planning an unmedicated birth, an epidural, a cesarean birth, or you're still figuring out what feels right for you, I'm here to provide steady support every step of the way.
I’ve given birth four times, each more traumatic than the last. I didn’t know anything about doulas or my options or advocating for myself. I want to help every birthing person have a birth story they are happy to tell.
The best part of being a full spectrum doula? I get the be present during one of the most important moments of a family’s life. I get to help that family transition into its new form. I get to watch parents grow from nervous, anxious, “what do we do next” into a confident team that can handle whatever comes their way. I can’t imagine a better way to spend my time!

Hi, I’m Emmalee! As a certified postpartum doula, my mission is simple: to make sure you feel as loved, cared for, and supported as your new baby.
The transition into parenthood is beautiful, but it can also feel overwhelming, exhausting, and full of unexpected twists. That’s where I come in. I’m here to hold space for your healing, help you navigate the "fourth trimester," and give you the confidence to trust your instincts.
How I support your family: For You: Newborn care guidance, lactation/feeding support, and emotional check-ins. For Your Home: Light household tasks, meal prep (hello, nourishing warm soups!), etc. * For Your Rest: Dedicated time for you to shower, sleep, or simply breathe while knowing your baby is in gentle, capable hands.
When I’m not supporting new parents, you can find me spending time outside or with animals! I’d love to help you build your postpartum sanctuary. Let’s connect!
