You’re Not Meant to Do This Alone
The postpartum period is a time of significant physical, emotional, and lifestyle changes. Research shows that families who receive support during the weeks after birth experience greater confidence, reduced stress, and a smoother transition into parenthood.
At Metro East Birth and Baby, our postpartum doulas provide evidence-based education, practical assistance, and compassionate support tailored to your family's needs. We help you recover from birth, care for your newborn, and build confidence in your parenting decisions—without judgment or pressure.
Our services may include:
Newborn care education
Feeding support
Emotional support and reassurance
Recovery after vaginal or cesarean birth
Infant soothing and sleep guidance
Partner and family support
Referrals to trusted community resources when needed
Our role is not to replace your medical providers, but to complement your care by providing personalized, in-home support during the fourth trimester.
Your daytime doula can come for 4-6 hours per day, as many days per week as you wish, for as many weeks as you wish. They will help care for baby, teach you about infant care and body language, and then care of baby while you care for yourself with a shower, a meal, and a nap.
Your nighttime doula can come for 8-12 hours at a time, again for as many days and weeks as you need. They will watch baby overnight, change diapers, sooth irritability, and feed baby (or bring baby to you, if breastfeeding), so that you can catch up those missing hours of sleep.
Every family deserves to feel informed, supported, and empowered. Whether you need a few hours of guidance or ongoing postpartum care, we're here to help you navigate this transition with confidence.
